An intriguing storyline with some spectacular visuals, both natural and CGI. Whilst Monsters isn't the greatest film it is well worth watching, however the real success story is in the making of the film. Shot on a very low budget, the two actors travelled through Central America with a small crew and armed guards (some who pitched in as extras) to tell this unique tale of life after the extraterrestrials initial arrival.
Synopsis: Set six years after a space probe that had found evidence of extraterrestrial life broke up over Mexico. A photographer in Central America is given the task of escorting his manager’s daughter back to the United States. They arrange to catch the last boat back before the mating season starts, but when they lose their passports they have to travel by land through the quarantine zone!
