Film 336/365, Day 351/365 – Forgetting Sarah Marshall

Forty percent romance to sixty percent comedy, which is almost the ideal mix for me... almost.  This film has a number of very funny moments and plenty of moments that are more than uncomfortable.  However this is also the film that brought us Aldous Snow who went on to have his own film, Get Him to the Greek, which was brilliant.

Synopsis:  Dumped by his long time girlfriend, Sarah Marshall, Peter decides to go to Hawaii to forget all about her and try to get his life moving again.  But in a cruel twist of fate Sarah is staying at the same hotel with her new boyfriend, an outrageous British rocker.

Film 285/365, Day 317/365 – Bad Teacher

Occasionally funny and mostly predictable.  It’s not your average Rom-Com although it does follow some of the usual steps.  Diaz’s character is despicable and has some funny moments whilst Timberlake’s character is both absurd and bizarre!  Not too much more to it than that really.

Synopsis:  Elizabeth Halsey has just completed her first and last year as a teacher, now she is off to marry her rich fiancĂ©... well that’s what she thought.  He has now finally realised that she is just with him for his money and has kicked her out.  Now she will have to go back to teaching until something better comes along!

Film 58/365, Day 62/365 – Despicable Me

Gru is an evil genius, he was possibly the best evil genius... that is until someone stole one of the pyramids. Now in an attempt to put himself back to the top of the rankings he is planning to steal the moon! But first he needs to steal a shrink ray from the new top evil genius, Vector. To complete the first part of the plan he adopts three girls from an orphanage...

Despicable Me was a very entertaining film with plenty for the adults as well as the kids. The constant high-jinks from Gru’s minions were excellent and Gru himself was fantastically despicable. It’s no Toy Story but for anyone that enjoys those sort of films you should definitely check this out.
