Film 337/365, Day 351/365 – Desperado

Insanely brilliant.  Robert Rodriguez delivers an insane ultra violent tale of revenge.  There are countless excellent gun fights throughout although the story is a bit basic, but then who cares.  Antonio Banderas is cool and incredibly slick as El Mariachi and Salma Hayek is smoking hot!

Synopsis:  A Mariachi player goes on the warpath with a local drug lord who killed his girlfriend and shot him in the hand ending his days as a Mariachi.

Film 68/365, Day 69/365 – Up in Smoke

Hey… man!  Like… did you see this film… man!  It's like the first Cheech and Chong film... man! There are some genuinely funny moments in Up in Smoke as it set the bar for stoner films everywhere.  It’s not the best movie in the world but then it was probably never meant to be.  Basically it’s just a load of stupid fun, although ironically, or not, this film is probably much funnier if you are stoned!

Synopsis: Two stoners meet in a chance encounter which takes them all the way to Tijuana, Mexico where they accidentally pick up a van made entirely out of weed and drive back to California unaware that they are being followed all the way by the police.
