Film 166/365, Day 171/365 – Kung Fu Panda

There is no charge for Awesomeness.  Except if you buy Kung Fu Panda, which is something I would very much recommend.  It is excellent packed full of fantastic lines and hilarious Kung Fu action.  Kung Fu Panda is a thoroughly enjoyable film and one that could be watched again and again.  Awesome!

Synopsis:  Po dreams of becoming a Kung Fu master, the only problem is he has had no training, his father wants him to take up the family noodle business and he’s a panda!  One day however after a serious of accidents he is chosen to become the Dragon Warrior.  Will he complete the training or will it be too much for him?

Film 88/365, Day 92/365 – The Karate Kid

Packed full of action and with a good story line the Karate Kid was a very enjoyable film whether you’ve seen the original or not.  Jackie Chan was excellent and once Jaden Smith stopped being annoying he was actually very good.  My one problem with the film and it's a fairly big one… he learns kung fu and not karate, it’s in China, the home of kung fu…  Call it something different!!!

Synopsis: A mother is relocated to China for work, taking her twelve year old son with her.  Once there her son, Dre, is targeted by the school bullies and members of the fighting dragon’s house of kung fu.  One day the handy man Mr Han breaks up a fight and protects him from the bullies and to cut a long story short agrees to teach him kung fu.

Film 4/365, Day 2/365 – Armour of God

The Asian Hawk’s ex-girlfriend is kidnapped by a shadowy organisation, evil monks in black robes who show us how bad guys should wear their eyebrows!!! To get her back the Asian Hawk must retrieve the three remaining pieces of the Armour of God that will enable the evil organisation to destroy the one true god.

Armour of God starts with an excellent scene where the Asian Hawk, Jackie Chan, steals a sword from an African tribe. After that however it slows down until the end of the film. Whilst the action scenes are definitely worth waiting for, the transitions are very slow. If you like martial arts films or Jackie Chan then this is one you should see, if not you might get bored.
