Film 345/365, Day 358/365 – Megamind

A heart warming hilarious story.  Megamind is a fantastic character with his mispronunciation of words and unsuccessful attempts to be evil.  If you like Despicable Me then this will be right up your street.  Will Ferrell is excellent as the voice of Megamind.  Great fun.

Synopsis:  Megamind, a devious supervillain, finally destroys his nemesis Metroman but finds life without him to be unfulfilling and ultimately pointless.  Determined to rediscover his purpose he creates a superhero to do battle with.  Unfortunately the superhero turns out to be more of a supervillain than Megamind.

Film 234/365, Day 249/365 – How to Train Your Dragon

This is an excellent film.  You should definitely see this!  The story is fantastic and the animation is incredible.  From start to finish this film will leave you captivated and if you don’t feel like a little kid again whilst watching then you probably are a little kid, so don’t worry.  Cinematic gold!

Synopsis:  Hiccup is a young Viking who isn’t very good at being a Viking.  He can’t wield a weapon, he’s not very good at fighting dragons and as a result is constant disappointment to his father, the chief.  One day when Hiccup captures a very rare dragon is finds that he is unable to kill and instead learns that there is more to the dragons than they think they know.

Film 95/365, Day 105/365 – Superbad

I am McLovin!  If only this film had been just about McLovin and Officers Slater and Michaels then I think I would have rated it much higher and whilst the story of Seth and Evan is nicely told with some funny moments it holds nothing to McLovin.  It is a funny film but like I said it could have been better.

Synopsis: Two best friends, Seth and Evan, have spent the whole of their school life together.  Unfortunately they haven’t got into the same College and now must face the prospect of being apart.  So one last big night out is calling and luckily their friend Fogell has got a new fake ID that he is itching to use.  It should be a night to remember!

Film 50/365, Day 58/365 – Get Him to the Greek

Times are hard; the recession has hit and Sergio, challenges his staff to help his record company through it. Aaron suggests that a repeat of rock legend Aldous Snow’s landmark concert to mark its ten year anniversary is just what the company needs. Sergio eventually agrees and tasks Aaron with getting Aldous from London to Los Angeles in 72 hours. What could possibly go wrong?

If you have seen Forgetting Sarah Marshall then you have some idea of what you are in for. Aldous Snow, played by Russell Brand, gets a second outing in Get Him to the Greek. Jonah Hill stars alongside as mild mannered Aaron Green, although Sean Combs (P. Diddy) steals the show as Sergio. Get Him to the Greek was hilarious, I’ve just finished replacing all of my wallpaper with furry material… I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so hard, as when Aaron and Sergio are stroking the furry wall.
