Film 234/365, Day 249/365 – How to Train Your Dragon

This is an excellent film.  You should definitely see this!  The story is fantastic and the animation is incredible.  From start to finish this film will leave you captivated and if you don’t feel like a little kid again whilst watching then you probably are a little kid, so don’t worry.  Cinematic gold!

Synopsis:  Hiccup is a young Viking who isn’t very good at being a Viking.  He can’t wield a weapon, he’s not very good at fighting dragons and as a result is constant disappointment to his father, the chief.  One day when Hiccup captures a very rare dragon is finds that he is unable to kill and instead learns that there is more to the dragons than they think they know.

Film 145/365, Day 156/365 – Role Models

Fantastically brilliant comedy with more stand alone moments than I’ve seen in one film before.  On top of that it is a real feel good film with an excellent final scene.  There are too many hilarious characters to name them all.  The relationship between Danny and Wheeler and Jane Lynch’s character is exceptional and Christoper Mintz-Plasse is unbelievable.  Great film packed full of non stop laughs.

Synopsis:  Danny and Wheeler work for an energy drink company and go school to school giving presentations on their energy drinks.  When Danny is dumped by his girlfriend, just as tries to propose to her, they go on rampage and now face either jail or to become mentors for children.  Not sure who's being punished here!

Film 95/365, Day 105/365 – Superbad

I am McLovin!  If only this film had been just about McLovin and Officers Slater and Michaels then I think I would have rated it much higher and whilst the story of Seth and Evan is nicely told with some funny moments it holds nothing to McLovin.  It is a funny film but like I said it could have been better.

Synopsis: Two best friends, Seth and Evan, have spent the whole of their school life together.  Unfortunately they haven’t got into the same College and now must face the prospect of being apart.  So one last big night out is calling and luckily their friend Fogell has got a new fake ID that he is itching to use.  It should be a night to remember!

Film 67/365, Day 68/365 – Kick Ass

Kick Ass has everything you’d want from an action movie, lots of action, a frequent splattering of comedy, brilliant stunts and a host of characters that you can really believe in.  It is excellent, I cannot recommend it highly enough, basically there is only really one thing to say (and I promised myself I wouldn’t… but here goes anyway), it KICK’S ASS!

Synopsis: Average high school student Dave, who spends most of his time reading comics or discussing them with his friends, one day raises a question.  “Why has no-one become a super hero?”  With that idea fresh in his head Dave orders a wet suit online and sets about becoming a super hero.  It doesn’t go so well from the start but things soon begin to pick up until the local Mob boss doesn’t take too kindly to super heroes messing in his business and sets about destroying them.
