Film 313/365, Day 335/365 – Serenity

Excellent science fiction.  This takes place in a fantastically detailed galaxy with lots of incredibly interesting stories woven throughout.  It is a very good story and a thoroughly entertaining film with some excellent special effects and a wealth of interesting characters.

Synopsis:  Ending up on the losing side in a war that spanned the entire galaxy Mal and his crew now survive by any means necessary.  For the most part they are keeping below the radar until they pick up two siblings, one who knows a dark secret that would be very bad for the side that one the war were it to get out.

Film 268/365, Day 297/365 – Inside Man

Brilliant, a thoroughly enjoyable(!) bank robbery.  Everything is exceptionally planned out and masterfully delivered.  Spike Lee delivers another great film.  If you enjoy a good ‘how’d they do it’ then you will love this.  Clive Owen is brilliant and Denzel Washington is good.  Great film.

Synopsis:  A bank robbery results in a hostage situation and whilst the regular hostage negotiator is not available it gives Detective Frazier the chance to make his mark.  The problem is this is no ordinary bank robbery, they have everything planned down to the very last detail.

Film 1/365, Day 1/365 – Salt

Evelyn Salt is a field agent for the CIA, but everything changes when a Russian defector shows up unannounced.  He reveals some far fetched stories and then tells them that a Russian sleeper agent will assassinate the Russian President attending a funeral.  Then he finally reveals the name of the Russian sleeper agent… Evelyn Salt!

If I’m completely honest, and I have no reason not to be, Salt was a good fun film however it felt like it was missing something… and I’m still not quite sure what.  It had lots of action, plenty of twists and turns, some more obvious than others, but enough to keep you interested.  Although I still can’t shake this feeling that it hasn’t really ended…
